Lunch at Acuhulta
Acuhulta is a restaurant located on what once was the garden of Ruth's childhood home. The family still owns the property and it is now the home of this fantastic seafood restaurant and a beautiful hotel. The restaurant has the best ceviche that I have ever tasted! The kids loved it as well. They at shrimp and fish sticks along with fresh lemonade. Everywhere we go, you can always get fresh, homemade lemonade. The kids had a great time exploring the mural around the mango tree. The tree has been there for as long as the house has been there.
Here is Maya and Jacob in front of a very large turtle/tortoise shell.

More Swim Lessons
Jacob is so happy because he figured out he can swim!
Jacob swimming on his own in the deep water after 2 lessons.
Jacob just happy to in the pool.

Maya is unhappy because Mike "sinked me". The teacher was teaching her to tread water and let go for her to learn to stay above water. Maya did not like it at all!

First Day of Swimming Lessons
Here are the kids right before swim lessons started. They were quite excited. Their teacher speaks little English yet somehow the kids understand him. They call him "Mike". I am unsure of his real name.

The kids both learned very quickly and were comfortable in the Olympic size pool in no time. Maya loved hanging on the ladder and bobbing her head in and out of the water. She would come up wiping the hair out of her face and laughing each time!
Jacob immediately trusted Mike and was more than willing to head into the deep waters of the pool. By deep, I mean about 5 feet.

Tennis Lessons at the Deportivo
Jacob loves his tennis lessons! He hates to miss one which is usually due to rain. He is doing great, a real pro...
Maya and Mommy share a frozen lemonade while watching Jacob play tennis.
Maya was getting tired watching Jacob play tennis, so she decided to go cuddle with Mimima.
The next 2 pics are Jacob being shown some coordination techniques. Here is having to stop 2 tennis balls with one foot and then the other.

Cute Pictures
Maya loves to play with Ezmeralda. If this picture had sound you would hear Maya's laugh. She was having fun having Ezmeralda chase her around the yard and then falling to the ground.
Here is Maya lying on the ground laughing after a big game of chase.
This pic is from Chave's birthday. They got her a "Cake Lido" as it is called. It is from a bakery that has been around for years. They always get the birthday cakes from the Lido bakery.

Pizza Pooch 2
The kids had a great time playing in the play area. Jacob disappeared up top. Maya played on the bottom until she heard a balloon pop. Then she said she was done and wanted to go sit with Mimima and Papa.

I tried several times to try to get a pic of Jacob playing but it was impossible. He would stop for a second and smile. When I would take the picture, he would be gone. I have 5 pics of blurred images.

Father's Day at Pizza Pooch
Today we went to Pizza Hut or "Pizza Puch" as it is called here, for Father's Day. It was the kids choice and Papa graciously agreed. The fast food restaurants in San Salvador and much nicer and taste much better than in the states. They are cleaner and the service is 10 times better. They have huge 2 story play areas. The kids had a great time eating and playing.
Jacob is enjoying his Sprite waiting for his Pizza.
Here Papa is patiently waiting for his yummy pizza to arrive. Believe it or not, Maya actually took this picture.
Maya definately enjoyed her pizza.

The pizza was very cheesey...

An Afternoon Up in the Mountains
Today we had lunch up in the mountain/volcano. Unfortunately, it was very cloudy and you could not see very far. On a clear day, one can see the lake on one side and the ocean on the other. You can see the entire city as well. It is quite a sight to see. The kids had a great time. The house is so high up that you are actually in the clouds. The kids thought it was very cool to be able to run through the clouds.
